Purim in the Shtetl

  • Purim is in a bit over a week away! It begins Wednesday March 20th at night fall, and continues until the evening of Thursday March 21st.

There are 4 important Mitzvahs which must be preformed on Purim.

    1. Hearing the Megillah read in Hebrew from a scroll
    2. Mishloach Manot- giving a food gift to a fellow Jew
    3. Matanot L'evyonim- Givin charity to a poor person
    4. Eating a festive meal

All four of these Mitzvahs can be preformed at
    Purim in the Shtetl!

It is an important Mitzvah for men, women and children to hear the Megilla in Hebrew from a valid scroll on Wednsday evening and Thursday during the day.

For this reason, we will be reading it 7:10 pm on Wednesday, March 20th at night, as well as Thursday March 21st at 5:00pm.

If you cannot make it to either of these times, please contact us to  schedule a time when it can be read for you.

Hope to see you there, and
    Happy Purim!!!

    Rabbi Elie Filler
